School-based Mentoring - Regular visits to a school to provide encouragement and enhance character development to a selected student. SERVE (SERVE - Volunteers in Education) will assist with placing your tutors and arranging for mentor training.

Guest Speakers - Employee presentations about careers, business or other interests.

"Great American Teach-In" - An annual event for business and community leaders to become teachers for a day.

Tutoring - Release time provided for employees to provide tutorial services to students needing extra help. SERVE (SERVE - Volunteers in Education) will assist with placing your tutors and arranging for mentor training.

Technology - Resource support for the implementation of plans for future school system technology.

Adopt-a-school, Adopt-a-class, or Adopt-a-subject - A formal relationship of pledged support and resources between your business and a school or a class.

- Communication - Newsletters, web sites, videos, and other tools to provide information about schools and opportunities for involvement.

OFFER YOUR FINANCIAL/ MATERIAL RESOURCES

- Donations - Equipment, computers, furniture, and other valuable items.
- Student Incentives - Provide items to be distributed among students as positive reinforcement for academic achievement and good behavior.
- Newspaper in Education - Purchase newspapers for classes to improve reading and writing skills.
- Funding Partner - Support for classroom mini-grants, student scholarships, continuing education for teachers, or funding of innovative projects.
- Tax-deductible donations and Technology Matching opportunities - The Hillsborough Education Foundation and the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Foundation are available to take your tax-deductible donations and provide technology matching opportunities.
