Ensuring
the safety and welfare of our students when they are en route to
and from school is an important priority of Hillsborough County
Public Schools.
Effective immediately, bus drivers
have been instructed to return any kindergarten student to school
if a parent,
designated adult or older sibling is not present at the bus stop. These
new procedures will remain in effect until further notice.
We are also asking parents to remind their children to wear or
possess their Choice or Magnet School ID badges if they participate
in those programs, and for elementary age children to wear or possess
the bus transportation emergency contact form provided in the Back-to-School
packets. Please make sure you complete the form, and contact us
if you need us to provide a copy of the form.
For our part, we will update rosters provided daily to bus drivers,
check off student names as they board the bus to provide an accurate
accounting of riders, and begin dismissal preparations early enough
for buses to depart on schedule.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support. Working
together, you can be rest assured that our students will arrive
home safely.
