Dear Parents:

Welcome to Hillsborough County Public Schools, the eighth largest school district in the nation. We are proud to offer a variety of school choice options under the Hillsborough Choice Options umbrella. Options include Magnet programs, School Choice, Career & Technical Education programs, Hillsborough Virtual School, charter and traditional schools. Offering access to strong academic programs is part of the district initiative to provide parents and students with quality choices and academic excellence.

It is my belief that students are more successful when they are enrolled in programs that interest them. Our magnet schools offer theme-based curricula through which students can discover their talents and interests while focusing on academic excellence. Our district award-winning magnet programs include: visual, performing and communication arts, creative science centres, International Baccalaureate, animal science center, Maritime & Marine Environmental Science, Biomedical Engineering, and health academies. Through our School Choice Attractor programs we offer aerospace and robotics, firefighting/EMR, film production and design, and pharmacy.

I invite you to learn more about the many opportunities under the Hillsborough Choice Options umbrella. This website is designed to share information and details about the many options available. If you have questions about Hillsborough Choice Options, please call the Choice Information Line at 813.272.4692.

Sincerely,

MaryEllen Elia
Superintendent
