On February 3, 2014, the District posted a letter on this website and sent an email notification to all contractors and vendors required to be cleared through the Jessica Lunsford Act, of changes that would be put into place by the end of March 2014.
This letter is the updated information, as we have a definite date when the conversion and changes to the method of payment accepted by the School District will take place. Effective March 21, 2014, all contractors and vendors who have not completed the fingerprinting process will be required to pay for fingerprinting by MONEY ORDER ONLY. All payments prepaid through Cogent will no longer be accepted after March 20, 2014 and all refund requests must go directly through Cogent and your credit card provider.
The District will accept one money order for the total cost of the Jessica Lunsford Act process - $93.25 ($78.50 + $14.75). If you are fingerprinting through our District, you will not see a change in the cost to fingerprint or the process required to obtain your statewide badge.
If you already have a valid HCPS yellow badge, and wish to obtain the statewide badge the cost is still only $10.00.
If you have fingerprinted in another school district and need our HCPS yellow badge and the statewide badge, the cost is $14.75.
Payments for the badge can only be accepted in the form of a money order. All money orders should be made out to HCPS. You will need to have one money order per employee.
