| Creative Science Centre - Lower Campus - New! |

The Lower Campus (grades K-5) will utilize a hands-on, project-based, inquiry-rich curriculum. Students will have an opportunity to develop natural curiosity through asking questions, formulating theories, conducting investigations and experiments, solving problems and forming conclusions. Students will study the planet earth and its various natural environments including land, sea and space. Students will create three dimensional models depicting various land forms. As Lockhart’s campus is adjacent to Young Creative Science Centre – Upper Campus, its students will benefit from the interactions between both campuses. Field trips will include MOSI, Florida Aquarium, Hillsborough River and local archeological sites.

Roland Park K-8 Magnet School will open as an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme for grades K-5 and International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme for grades 6-8, and will immediately prepare to *apply to the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for authorization for this school. In concert with other world schools, students are introduced to content using unified themes that integrate the curriculum. Students will develop a broad-based knowledge of global issues and become critical thinkers. Students who are accepted into kindergarten may remain there until they complete 8th grade. Roland Park has no attendance area, and students throughout the district may apply to Roland Park K-8.

The Boys Preparatory Academy is a single gender school that focuses on academic excellence in an atmosphere that prepares young men for success – in school and in life. Recent studies on brain development provide faculty with information to develop strategies that benefit students, academically and socially. These benefits include a rigorous academic curriculum that promotes achievement, pre-AP readiness, professionalism, increased self-confidence and motivation, character education and fewer distractions. Research shows that young men in single gender educational settings have a high level of engagement in reading and fine arts classes, as well as a strong ability to focus in other courses. The Boys Preparatory Academy has a 21st century learning environment utilizing iPads, interactive white boards, laptops, etc. Each student receives an iPad for school use to supplement his learning. Beyond Traditional Time instruction includes after school Enrichment Academies such as the Golf Academy, Arts Academy, Speech & Debate Academy, Music Academy, Strategic Games Academy (for example, chess, puzzles, adventure games), Academic Enrichment Academy, and more. Saturday Academies are offered twice a month for students and their families with engaging topics that offer opportunities for growth and enrichment.

The Upper Campus (grades 6-8) will provide a rigorous curriculum utilizing a hands-on, project based approach. Students will explore a variety of science topics such as xeriscapes, creative science gardens, and weather wonders such as hurricanes and tornadoes. Students will study space exploration, construct a classroom planetarium, and research the differences between fresh water and salt water environments. Opportunities will be available to develop analytical skills through data collection, analysis and reporting. Students will be introduced to 21st century technology such as ArcGIS, Google Maps and Google Earth.

Walker Middle Magnet School will open as an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme and will immediately prepare to *apply to the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for authorization for this school. In concert with other world schools, students are introduced to content using unified themes that integrate the curriculum. Students will develop a broad-based knowledge of global issues and become critical thinkers. This will be a sister school to Williams International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. Students who receive offers will be zoned into either Walker or Williams based on their residential address.
