Tampa, Fla. – (November 20, 2015) – Hillsborough County Public Schools were once again prominently featured on the U.S. News & World Report’s rankings of the best high schools in the country.

The U.S. News rankings include data on close to 20,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Schools were awarded gold, silver, or bronze medals. The rankings are based on performance on state assessments and how well they serve all students, not just those bound for college.

The schools were ranked among the best in each state and nationally.

Plant High School came in at #17 in Florida (#263 nationally), Tampa Bay Tech High School ranked #38 (#578 nationally), Robinson High School ranked #44 (#640 nationally), Sickles High School came in at #48 (#705 nationally), Plant City High School ranked #104 (#1529 nationally), and Jefferson High School came in at #133 (#2461 nationally).

“I am so proud of our students who are working hard and proving they are some of the best students in the country. Our staff at all of our high schools are dedicated to carrying out the district’s vision of preparing students for life. We continue to work with our students to ensure they cross the stage on graduation day and have plans for their future,” said Jeff Eakins, Superintendent of Hillsborough County Public Schools.
