District hosts the 44th NABSE conference in November

November 07, 2016

Hillsborough County will be welcoming the 44th Annual National Alliance for Black School Educators Conference (NABSE). The NABSE Annual Conference, held every November, typically attracts thousands of attendees for workshops, school tours, presentations and other activities over four days. The conference will feature an exhibition area with about 200 educational products and services vendors.

The national conference will be held at the Tampa Convention Center from November 16-20, 2016.

A series of workshops will focus on best practices and enhancing student achievement.  NABSE encourages district leaders and teachers to attend. In addition to any individual or organization concerned about the education of our nation’s children is invited to register and learn from national educational leaders.

Jeff Eakins, Superintendent of Hillsborough County Public Schools shared that he is excited and the 44th National Alliance of Black School Educators conference to be held in the districts backyard. Superintendent Eakins went on to say, “We must remember that what we do today, matters tomorrow and I hope you will join me as we advocate for the education of all children nationwide.”

In partnership with Hillsborough Alliance of Black School Educators (HABSE), the district will be participating in school tours and offering a Parent and Student Symposium that engages parents in the latest data, statics and strategies to improve student achievement and success. Students will also learn strategies that will help them understand the power of a good education and how to overcome obstacles.
