Tampa, Fla. – (November 16, 2016) – Hillsborough County Public Schools welcomes the 44th Annual National Alliance for Black School Educators Conference (NABSE).

The conference begins Wednesday, November 16 and goes until November 20, at the Tampa Convention Center.

The NABSE Conference attracts educators from across the country focusing on best practices and ways to enhance student achievement. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, school tours, presentations and other activities throughout the event. The district will also host a Parent and Student Symposium that engages parents in the latest data, statistics, and strategies to improve student achievement and success. Students will learn strategies that help them understand the power of a good education and how to overcome obstacles. The Parent and Student Symposium is Wednesday, 10 a.m. – noon.

Superintendent Jeff Eakins will attend the conference on Thursday, November 17. “We must remember that what we do today, matters tomorrow. We must all be an advocate for the education of all children nationwide,” said Eakins.
