Hillsborough Schools to Recognize Student Athletes with Disabilities

Who: 323 students with disabilities from 20 high schools from Hillsborough County Public Schools

What:

11th Annual Special Olympics Athletic Letter Awards Ceremony

When:

Wednesday, April 26, 7 – 8 p.m.

Where:


Bloomingdale High School, 1700 E Bloomingdale Ave, Valrico


Why:


The evening will kick-off with greetings from Assistant Superintendent for Educational Access, Opportunity & Alternatives Wynne Tye and the athletes will recite the Special Olympics Oath.

The high point of the evening is the presentation of athletic letters to students and their teams. Each group is recognized on stage as they are presented with their letters. Students earn letters for individual and team sports.

The ceremony acknowledges the sportsmanship, commitment and perseverance displayed by our student athletes on and off the field.
