Marshall the Miracle Dog brings bullying prevention awareness to students and the community

August 13, 2015

Students, principals, and School Board members joined Marshall the Miracle Dog and his owner, Cyndi Willenbrock, at the New Tampa Recreation Center. Their presentation was focused on reinforcing Marshall’s message of empathy, kindness, and courage, which is part of the Marshall Mentor Program, an anti-bullying school program. School Board member Cindy Stuart joined students and principals from Pride Elementary, Turner/Bartels K-8, Liberty Middle School, and Freedom High School at this free family “Evening of Kindness” event.  At the event, Marshall signed “pawtographs” after the bullying prevention and animal rescue presentation. He and his owner were also joined by representatives from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Marshall is a 3-legged rescue dog from Marshall, Missouri who was found near death in a deplorable hoarding situation. Marshall is now a certified therapy dog and he and his new owner carry his message to thousands of school children across the country.  His life’s journey has now inspired a major motion film, Marshall’s Miracle, which is scheduled to open in select theaters on August 28. The focus of the film is centered around a young boy who is bullied and the connection he has with Marshall who has been abused by a dog-hoarder.
