STEMtastic: Amazing Opportunities Await Students

Tampa, Fla. – (October 17, 2017) – Hillsborough County Public Schools is excited to host STEMtastic, a night featuring demonstrations, hands-on activities and displays from STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programs throughout the district, on Thursday, October 19, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at The Florida Aquarium.
Students in kindergarten through eighth grade can learn about the more than 22 STEM programs offered in Hillsborough County Public Schools. This free event is for families to take part in interactive displays while learning about the possibilities available to students. Families can RSVP or get more information by calling 813-272-4692.
A number of schools will be participating including: Buchanan Middle School – Bioengineering Academy, Dunbar Elementary School – Medical & Science Exploration, Greco Middle School – Pre-Engineering Academy, Jefferson High School – Maritime, Madison Middle School – Aerospace Engineering, Muller Elementary Magnet – Arts & Environmental Studies, as well as many more.
This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn about the unlimited possibilities of STEM. Each school will represent their STEM theme in a fun, festive atmosphere. Families can also talk with school district staff about attending the district’s tuition-free STEM schools.
Families will also be able to visit the Coral Reef and Ocean Commotion Galleries while at the aquarium, and the Café Ray restaurant will also be open for quick-serve dinner and snacks. The Florida Aquarium is located at 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa and is a lead member of the Tampa Bay STEM Network.
