4380 - Threatening Behavior Toward Staff Members

The Board believes that a staff member should be able to work in an environment free of threatening speech or actions.

In order to provide a safe, caring, and orderly environment, the Board expects civility from all who engage in school activities. Mutual respect, professionalism, and common courtesy are essential qualities that all need to demonstrate in promoting an educational environment free from disruptions, harassment, bullying, and aggressive actions.

Threatening behavior consisting of any words or deeds that intimidate a staff member or cause anxiety concerning physical well-being is strictly forbidden. Any student, parent, visitor, staff member, volunteer, or agent of the Board who is found to have threatened a member of the staff will be subject to discipline or reported to the authorities.
