Tuesday, March 26, 2019

The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, met in a special called session Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at 4 p.m., in the School Board Auditorium, 901 East Kennedy Boulevard, Tampa, with Superintendent Jeff Eakins, and Board Members Lynn Gray, Stacy Hahn, Karen Perez and Tamara Shamburger present.  Chair Tamara Shamburger presided.

Approximately 45 people were in the audience, including other school district personnel.

Call to Order:  Meeting called to order at 4:03 p.m.

Moment of Silence and Pledge of Allegiance:  Moment of silence followed by Board Member Hahn leading in the Pledge of Allegiance. 

Adoption of the Agenda:

Motion by Mrs. Gray, second by Mrs. Hahn, to adopt the agenda.  Motion unanimously carried.

Board – Roll Call:  Chair Shamburger declared a quorum with four Board Members present.

Board Guidelines:  Member Hahn read the guidelines into the record.

Speakers to Agenda Items:  None

Motion by Mrs. Hahn, second by Mrs. Gray, to approve the Consent Agenda. Motion unanimously carried.

  • Anthony Montoto – currently Principal, Frost Elementary School, to Principal, Thonotosassa Elementary School
  • Lisa Varnum – currently Principal, Thonotosassa Elementary School, to Principal, Yates Elementary School
  • Chantel Angeletti – currently Principal, Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School, to Administrator on Special Assignment
  • Richard Scionti – currently Principal, Jennings Middle School, to Administrator on Special Assignment
  • Richard Shields – currently Principal Yates Elementary School, to Administrator on Special Assignment

Approve the Administrative Appointment of the Principal of Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School (Chief of Schools)

Motion by Ms. Perez, second by Mrs. Gray, to appoint Marc Gaillard, currently Principal of Edison Elementary School, to Principal of Sulphur Springs K-8 Community School.  Motion unanimously carried.

Approve the Administrative Appointment of the Principal of Jennings Middle School (Chief of Schools)

Motion by Ms. Perez, second by Mrs. Gray, to appoint Latonya Anderson, currently Assistant Principal for Student Affairs, McLane Middle School, to Principal of Jennings Middle School.  Motion unanimously carried.
