Who can attend a charter school?
Charter schools must open their enrollment to all students in the district. Each charter school has their own enrollment process that is approved through their board. To find out about a specific school's process, you must contact the school directly.

How do I enroll my child in a charter school?
Parents interested in enrolling their child in a charter school should visit the charter school and complete a registration packet.

Do charter schools provide exceptional education services?
Charter schools must provide ESE services as identified by the Individual Education Plan (IEP) committee.

Do charter schools provide transportation?
Transportation to a charter school cannot be a barrier for enrollment or attendance. To find out about transportation arrangements for a charter school, contact the school directly.

Who can teach in a charter school?
Charter schools must hire teachers who are certified or eligible for certification by the Florida Department of Education.

Who do I talk to if I have a problem at the charter school my child attends?
Parents and employees of charter schools must call or visit the principal or director of the school if they have problems or concerns. If parents or staff feel that the administration of the charter school is not meeting their concerns they should address these issues with either the representative and/or the Board of Directors of the charter school. Members of the schools governing board of directors and their contact information are available at the charter school or on the school's website.
