InSync Education provides parents, teachers, and students access to over 1,200 educational activities and resources that reinforce learning, clarify concepts, and aide in college-career readiness. This free, district-wide resource will enable users to read or listen to information in the language of their choice: English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.
U.S.A. Learns is a website created by the federal government in order to provide English language learning access to all. This resource is free of charge and easy to use.
All Charter Schools are required to provide a minimum amount of services to Exceptional Students. All students meeting the school’s application requirements must be enrolled upon acceptance through the charter schools lottery process (specific to school site, review the charter schools’ website for more information), regardless of services available at the school. After enrollment, an IEP team meeting to include the parent/guardian will convene to determine if the charter school will be able to serve the student’s IEP needs.
Immunization Requirements for Entry in Florida Schools
Students in Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade who are coming into a Florida school for the first time must present a record of an immunization record (DH 680) and a physical examination completed within the last 12 months. The immunization record must show that the student has met the minimum state requirement. Immunizations are provided for free at the Health Department.
Community Service Guidelines
To access an award through the Bright Futures Program, a student must complete a program of community service work, as approved by the school, which will require the student to identify a social problem that interests him or her, develop a plan for his or her personal involvement in addressing the problem, and through papers or other presentations, evaluate and reflect upon his or her experience. (Florida Statute 1009.534)
