Resources - Family & Community

A charter school will have the most direct and viable information regarding resources available to families and the community it serves.

The HCPS Charter Schools Office provides personnel to charter schools for school support. A comprehensive list of ways in which the charter schools are supported by HCPS staff is found on the School Support page.

In order to support families and the community served by charter schools the following links to applicable information available to all Hillsborough County Public Schools students are provided:

All Charter Schools are required to comply with the Florida Consent Decree, which is the state’s framework for compliance with following federal and state laws regarding the education of English Language Learner (ELL) students. The links below are nationally available English language support resources for families and schools.

InSync Education
InSync Education provides parents, teachers, and students access to over 1,200 educational activities and resources that reinforce learning, clarify concepts, and aide in college-career readiness. This free, district-wide resource will enable users to read or listen to information in the language of their choice: English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

USA Learns
U.S.A. Learns is a website created by the federal government in order to provide English language learning access to all. This resource is free of charge and easy to use.

All Charter Schools are required to provide a minimum amount of services to Exceptional Students. All students meeting the school’s application requirements must be enrolled upon acceptance through the charter schools lottery process (specific to school site, review the charter schools’ website for more information), regardless of services available at the school. After enrollment, an IEP team meeting to include the parent/guardian will convene to determine if the charter school will be able to serve the student’s IEP needs.
