Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has been named one of America’s top employers for new graduates by Forbes Magazine, the only K-12 school district on the first-ever ranking of America’s Best Employers For New Graduates.
HCPS earned a rank of #150 out of 250 companies across the nation which includes companies like Adobe Systems, Google, Viacom, Trader Joe's, General Motors and New York University. Forbes Magazine said new graduates have a lot to consider when choosing an employer, and the organizations on the list stand out among others. HCPS is the largest employer in Hillsborough County with more than 24,000 employees.
According to Forbes Magazine, in partnership with the market research company Statista who assembled the list, "they surveyed 10,000 Americans with less than ten years professional experience working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. All the surveys were anonymous, allowing participants to openly share their opinions. The respondents were asked to rate their organizations on criteria such as working conditions, salary and how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others. Many recent grads consider benefits like flexible work arrangements and career development opportunities to be just as important as hefty paychecks. In looking at those characteristics of employers, some companies stood out as top postgrad destinations." HCPS was one of those companies.
