Muller Magnet Elementary School was awarded the 2018-2019 Ryan A. Raines Energy Award. As the recipients of this award, the school received a $1,000 check to reinvest in educational programs at the school site and an Energy Conservation plaque showcasing their school's outstanding accomplishment.
This award is given to a school each year that saves the most energy in memory of Ryan A Raines who was an Energy Mentor in the Division of Operations for Hillsborough County Public Schools.
Muller Energy Saving Accomplishment
Muller Elementary Magnet reduced its energy consumption by 29 percent compared to last year. This is equivalent to one month of energy in the summer or two months of energy in the fall or winter. Approximately $27,864 of energy savings that will funnel back in the district to support schools.
All achieved by maintaining proper HVAC & lighting schedules, and verifying all door & windows are closed.
1. Reduced electrical consumption from 1,122,929 kWh to 869,618 kWh for the year
2. Reduced total electricity cost by 29%
3. Reduced consumption rate from 18.7 kWh/SF to 14.5 kWh/SF
