Tampa, Fla. – (June 15, 2018) – Hillsborough County Public Schools is excited to host a recruiting event, inviting current Hillsborough County teachers to transfer to one of our Achievement Schools. With positions offered on-the-spot, teachers will have the power to start shaping the futures of students in schools with the highest needs, and may also see an increase in pay.
The Showcase of Achievement Schools event takes place on Monday, June 18, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the Instructional Services Center, 2920 N. 40th St., Tampa.
Our district’s new Achievement Schools effort is a bold, comprehensive approach to transform the learning of every student. There are 50 Achievement Schools in our district, made up of high needs schools that will receive supports and resources for sustained success. One of the overarching goals is to dramatically increase the number of students performing at or above grade level in reading and math within three years of implementation at these schools.
During the recruiting event, principals and their teams will be looking for highly qualified teachers in areas such as math, science, English, reading and Exceptional Student Education. It’s expected teachers will be offered positions on the spot so that teachers can be processed and transferred prior to the start of the school year.
Depending on their current school, teachers transferring to a high needs school may be eligible for hundreds of dollars in incentive pay through our district’s Renaissance Schools program.
