Tampa, Fla. – (August 3, 2018) – Bus drivers with Hillsborough County Public Schools will lead the effort to provide students with school supplies throughout the school year. The community is invited to stuff a yellow school bus with all the supplies students need to start the school year prepared to learn.
Throughout the weekend, community members can Stuff the Bus by purchasing school supplies or simply picking up Grab-N-Go prepackaged school supply kits at the Walmart at 14941 N. Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa. It’s a great weekend to get out to buy school supplies during the state’s Sales Tax Holiday, which lasts from Friday through Sunday.
School supplies will be distributed throughout the school year in partnership with the Hillsborough Education Foundation Teaching Tools Store. Needed items include backpacks, binders, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, scissors, glue sticks and much more. Having the right school supplies is essential for children and can help pave the way for a successful year.
Hillsborough County Public Schools employees are working together to prepare students for life and have been collecting school supplies at donation sites set up at several locations including district headquarters, maintenance offices and the district’s Student Nutrition Services Silo Bend.
