Why #WeAchieveTogether: Teacher Martha Cobb
Martha Cobb is a 4th and 5th grade teacher in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Department at Graham Elementary School.
I’m lucky because I love my job. It’s the greatest high watching these children learn.
It’s those little growths that are rewarding, seeing that you have inspired someone who might not have believed in themselves. The goal is to have that light bulb turn on so that the students are motivated to learn and believe in themselves. It’s exciting when you start to see that determination, and that they’re understanding a little faster and not giving up.
We are a family here, and the skill level of the teachers and their determination to help our students succeed continues to drive me back every year. It takes a lot of creativity, support, planning and strategy, but we really are a great team here and I think that is why the students are successful.
In our classrooms there is a lot of differentiated instruction, and that’s our goal - to meet the needs of all students. It requires extra work on teachers’ parts, but the teachers are invested in helping the students grow. In the end, it’s all about the children and ensuring they succeed.
This is Why #WeAchieveTogether.
