Florida TaxWatch recognizes two principals for being most effective leaders in Florida and awards students college scholarships
Congratulations to middle school Principal Karen French, from Girls Preparatory Academy at Ferrell Middle Magnet School and Elementary Principal Kristina Alvarez, from Alexander Elementary, for being selected by Florida TaxWatch to receive a Principal Leadership Award. With this recognition comes a two-year paid college scholarship from Florida Prepaid College Plans Foundation. Congratulations to eighth grader Daisy Cerro-Tepetate from Ferrell and fifth grader Daniella Fernandez from Alexander for being selected to receive a scholarship.
“I am grateful for this scholarship because it’s not something every person can get, so I am going to push myself even harder to achieve great goals that I have for the future,” said scholarship winner from Ferrell, Daisy Cerro-Tepetate.
When Daisy gets into high school next year she said she is going to start looking into colleges, because she is at the point where she needs to start thinking about what she wants out of her future.
Principal French and Principal Alvarez will be recognized in May, at an awards celebration in Orlando, for being named two of Florida’s most highly effective principals based on school performance data.
Both Principal French and Alvarez say this recognition goes to their staff and students for the hard work they put forth each and every day.
