Tampa, Fla. – (September 17, 2019) – The Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association (HCTA) and Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) announce they have reached a tentative salary agreement for Educational Support Personnel (ESP) for the 2019-2020 school year.
Educational Support Personnel include clerical staff, paraprofessionals, school nurses and teaching assistants.
Under the tentative agreement, Educational Support Personnel will receive a “one level” increase and a 2% cost of living adjustment. This would be equivalent to approximately a 4% increase to their base salary.
It is important to note this tentative agreement was reached at the negotiating table and must now be ratified by the members of the HCTA-ESP bargaining unit and voted on by the Hillsborough County School Board.
These employees will continue to receive other benefits including:
- Reduced child care costs through the HOST before- and after-school program
- Zero premium employee-only health insurance plan paid for by the school district
HCTA represents approximately 4,500 educational support personnel.
The negotiations will continue for teachers.
