Tampa, Fla. – (February 10, 2016) – The Armed Forces Family Foundation (AFFF) partnered with local Taco Bell restaurants to raise funds to support the children of military members.
The AFFF will present a $50,000 check to Superintendent Jeff Eakins and Principal Nancy Mooy at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, at Tinker K-8 School on MacDill AFB. School Board members will also be on hand for the presentation.
The AFFF donation will provide funds for the purchase of an HP tablet for each sixth and seventh grade student at Tinker K-8. “It’s truly awe-inspiring to see the level of generosity shown by our local communities,” said Founder and Managing Director of the AFFF, Nick Peters. This new technology will engage Tinker students to become active learners, it will enhance learning of concepts and complex content, and extend learning beyond the classroom.
Since 1952, Tinker has served children of military families in kindergarten through fifth grade stationed at MacDill Air Force Base. Tinker was expanded this year to include grades six through eight and to reduce the number of transitions for a military family. “It is very important to our district that we meet the unique needs of our military families. We are thankful for the support the Armed Forces Family Foundation has provided to our families,” shared Superintendent Jeff Eakins.
The Armed Forces Families Foundation (AFFF), together with participating Taco Bell restaurants, are proud Supporters of America’s Armed Forces and their families. The ARMED FORCES FAMILIES FOUNDATION with its Taco Bell partners have raised over 1.5 MILLION DOLLARS. 100% of every dollar raised goes toward projects to help those who protect our Freedom.
