Tampa, Fla. – (January 17, 2020) – The Hillsborough County School Board will hold a Special Called School Board meeting on Tuesday, January 21, at 2:30 p.m. in the School Board auditorium.

The three finalists for the Superintendent position will sit for their final interviews. It is expected the School Board will vote at the end of the meeting for their selection of our district’s next Superintendent.

The three finalists are; Addison Davis, Superintendent from Clay County, Florida, Dr. Don Haddad, Superintendent from Longmont, Colorado and Dr. Peter Licata, Regional Superintendent from Palm Beach County, Florida.

Hillsborough County Public Schools is the 7th largest school district in the nation and is the largest employer in Hillsborough County with more than 24,000 employees. Our district’s employees have a goal of supporting and guiding our more than 220,000 students toward graduation.

It is an exciting time in Hillsborough Schools. Students in our district showed gains for the fifth year in a row, pushing our graduation rate to 86.2%, an all-time record high. Our teachers, support staff and administrators continue to close the achievement gap between students, with all subgroups of students increasing their graduation rate from the previous year.
