Tampa, Fla. – (March 26, 2020) – On Tuesday, March 31, the Hillsborough County School Board will meet for their regular School Board meeting. However, due to concerns over the coronavirus, board members, district staff and any community members who wish to attend will be required to practice social distancing.

Our district will set up several viewing locations at our main district headquarters, which will allow community members to watch the board meeting live – in groups of 10 or less and separated by 6 feet. Any community members who wish to make public comments during that portion of the meeting will be individually escorted into the board auditorium so they can address the board and then leave to allow another community member to enter the room.

Members of the public may also email comments about the agenda and those comments will be made part of the official record. Email comments to by 3:30 p.m. on March 31.

Even though school buildings are closed, the School Board and our more than 24,000 employees are hard at work to continue the important role of educating more than 225,000 students in our district. The School Board meeting will be live-streamed on and aired live on HillsboroughSchoolsTV on Spectrum channel 635 and Frontier channel 32.
