Tampa, Fla. – (July 10, 2017) – Hillsborough County Public Schools will hold three summer graduations on Thursday, July 13, at 3 p.m., to celebrate our students who have completed their graduation requirements.

Summer graduation gives students another opportunity to graduate with classmates. HCPS holds summer graduations in July to allow students the chance to meet the college fall entrance deadlines on time.

The three graduation ceremonies will be held at central locations where nearly 200 students from neighboring schools will come to receive their diploma. The ceremonies will be held at Jefferson High School, Bloomingdale High School and Strawberry Crest High School.

These students factor in with the district’s overall graduation rate and brings Hillsborough County Public Schools closer to reaching the 90% by 2020 goal. “I am so proud of all of our students who stayed focused and who now will have better opportunities for post-secondary education and better jobs. Our dedicated teachers, administrators and support staff work every day to ensure every child is successful,” said Superintendent Jeff Eakins.
