When it becomes necessary to employ support personnel on a temporary basis, such employment is on a limited-time basis to fill a vacancy for which a regular employee cannot be found, to fill a position vacant as a result of an extended leave of a permanent employee, or to perform some task of a temporary nature. This employment shall end at the conclusion of the fiscal year, at the end of the designated leave, or at the time when the temporary task is completed.
Support substitutes shall be paid in accordance with the established salary schedule. A substitute shall be paid on an hourly basis for the actual hours worked, not to exceed the number of hours required of the position for which the employee is substituting.
Support staff in a bargaining unit should refer to the collective bargaining agreement.
