The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag shall be recited at the beginning of each school day in elementary, middle, and secondary schools. A student may be excused from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance when the parent(s) or legal guardian files a written request with the school principal. A student who refrains from reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag must remain seated/standing quietly while the pledge is recited by others.
A 2' x 3' flag made in the United States of America must be displayed in each classroom.
The United States flag shall be displayed daily on a suitable flag staff on the grounds of each school when the weather permits. Each classroom and auditorium shall display the United States flag.
The President’s Proclamation of 1954 indicates that the flag is to be flown at half mast under certain conditions. The Superintendent or designee shall inform each site’s administrator when it is appropriate to fly the United States flag at half staff.
