2262 - Before and After School (Out-of-School Time) Programs

The School Board is concerned about the number of students who are in need of care and supervision when school is not in session.

The Superintendent shall establish administrative procedures that will address the following

  A. Only children who are officially registered as students in the District are eligible to participate in before or after out-of-school time programs.


  B. Fees will be charged for all programs.


  C. Parents will be notified about programs, fees, and procedures for enrollment prior to the establishment of these programs.


  D. Based on identified family and community needs, programs and services may be provided to students, when cost-effective for the District, prior to the start of the regular school day and/or after school as well as during the summer months.


  E. Program emphasis will be on providing safety, security, and educational opportunities through a variety of activities that promote the development of successful students.


  F. Any organization(s) contracted with by the District to provide these programs must maintain adequate liability insurance, adhere to appropriate adult-child ratios, provide quality child care, and comply with policies and procedures established by the State and the District.


The Superintendent shall develop and update as needed administrative procedures to implement this policy.
