We are strong, confident young women

We are dedicated to developing confident, dynamic, educated young women from across Hillsborough County. At the Girls Preparatory Academy at Ferrell Middle Magnet School in East Tampa, we challenge students with eight optional Scholar Quest high school credit courses, including Spanish, Computer Science and Integrated Physical Science. Our accelerated math program produces high-performing scholars who complete both Algebra Honors and Geometry Honors by 8th grade. Through Electives, our students sample a range of exciting courses, engaging in Band, Art and Computer & Business Technology—we are one of only two middle schools offering Criminal Justice/Law Studies. Our Sixth Grade Structure helps students feel at home in their new learning environment, starting with Tiger Cub Camp, where incoming 6th graders get familiar with middle school. We invite you to join our college-going culture, where…We are resilient. We are one. We are the Girls Preparatory Academy.

Sixth Grade Structure

Our sixth grade structure is designed to group students who are new to middle school together for their first year as they become comfortable with the dynamics of their new school.

Scholar Quest

Scholar Quest engages students in accelerated courses, featuring advanced academics and unique future-focused career learning opportunities. Courses often allow students to receive high school credits.

Sample several fascinating subjects as a 6th grade student before taking a deeper dive into the fields that interest and inspire you most in 7th and 8th grades.
